Dear Friends and Family,

I am excited to share with you the opportunity that God has opened for me this summer as I travel to Kenya on mission with Touched by Love International, inc from June 7th- July 2nd! This summer, in addition to catching up with our various partners and bringing needed supplies to the women and children in their care, we will focus the majority of our time and attention on one of our major ministry partners in Nakuru, Kenya: Hands of Relief and director Shem Asuma. I will be working side by side with Shem and his volunteers, identifying and preparing families for outreach alongside community relief volunteers, conducting needs assessments in several villages, following with relief intervention and family empowerment. Together we will offer basic instruction in business and marketing. Our group instruction will include offering instruction in traditional skills such as food storage and solar drying, small scale gentle beekeeping, soap making and possibly an introduction to creating non-toxic alternatives to common household cleaning items, small space/high yield gardening techniques, etc. By offering these classes to those served, we hope to be creating opportunities for women to feed their own through the food they grow, but to also provide them with marketable skills to produce a small income for their family’s needs as well!

While in Kenya, Shem and I will also be making long term goals for long standing sustainability for Hands of Relief and those they serve. As time allows, we hope to meet with local farmers, business leaders and local officials, looking into the feasibility of one day opening local high school and adult education vocational/ technical training centers in the county. 

All of these goals, while noble, would only amount to another offering of more social programs if our first and most important goal isn’t met. For God has called us at Touched by Love International for one purpose: to demonstrate, testify to, and proclaim to these beautiful people how greatly He loves them and that His Mercy is far reaching and is new every morning! Although their culture tells them they are nothing, God says otherwise and we proclaim this over each of their lives! Forgotten and broken souls can finally find hope and freedom from the shame and chains of poverty which has held generations captive. 

As I travel back to Kenya this year, I am excited to see all that God has for the people in Kenya! While I am thankful for the awesome opportunities He provides for us to reach His people with His Love, I am ever humbled by the love the people of Kenya He allows me to experience in return! However, as I know He is calling me to serve the people of Kenya again, I know I must rely on Him for strength, wisdom, and provision andI know I am unable to do this on my own. As you feel called, I would be blessed if you would consider supporting me prayerfully and/or financially. 

How can you participate with us in what God is doing in Kenya? In order to make this trip possible, I will need to raise $4,000 (by June 2) to cover the cost of airfare, in-country expenses, including the costs of hiring a trusted driver with reliable vehicle and fuel for our daily outreaches, and extra supplies for materials needed for the trainings we will be offering. Thus far, by God’s Grace and the generous help of my family, I have been able to raise about ½ of what is needed financially for my mission trip! In case you are led to contribute financially to my trip, details are provided below for your tax deductible giving options.

Most importantly, I am humbly seeking individuals to be my prayer partners who are willing to cover this trip in prayer. I would be incredibly blessed if you could cover me in prayer daily prior to, during, and after the trip is completed. Areas to pray can include: travel safety, in-flight and in-country; favor with the local communities and leaders we serve; wisdom and understanding in all we do; opportunities to share the Gospel.

Holly Stockett

Holly Stockett- Founder/ President

Founder and visionary president of TBLI, Holly is a lover of Jesus, a devoted wife, mother of four, and grandmother to two beautiful boys. At an early age, Holly had a deep desire to work among the poorest of the poor in the world, sharing the love and mercy of Jesus to the forgotten of society through compassion ministries. 

Though called to serve in missions at 14, God did not open doors to the missions until many years later. In the time leading to that open door, the Lord continually affirmed her call. She attended Gordon college, was secretary for the campus’s Bread for the World mission, managed group homes for developmentally delayed adults with emotional challenges, volunteered in soup kitchens and outreach to the homeless in Hartford, CT and Boston, Mass, sang in many choirs and mastered skills in sustainable agriculture and small space gardening, and ran two businesses. With her husband, Bob, she attended HEART Institute for missionary training, raised 4 beautiful children, homeschooled 2, and hosted many missionaries and musicians in her home. 

While away on a spiritual retreat in 2014, the LORD spoke to her the words from Isaiah 43:18, 19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.¹⁹ See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

The doors for her to do mission work were opening! Upon returning to Vermont, she met a Kenyan pastor who needed help for the orphans in his care and Touched By Love International was born.

Today GOD has refined the vision for TBLI, introduced them to new partners, and opened many opportunities for the women and children they serve.  Holly’s love for Kenyans and her passion to see His people flourish, to live in the knowledge of HIS Love for them and their infinite value, continues to drive her to work to help them to reach their potential now and for years to come!

Outside of TBLI, Holly enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, baking and gourmet cooking, playing with her grandchildren, singing on worship teams, spending time with family and friends and creating beauty around her.

Robert Stockett- Treasurer

Robert (Bob) Stockett has been faithfully and actively serving on Touched by Love International’s Board of Directors in different capacities, since its inception in 2014. He currently serves as the organization’s treasurer. In 1999 Bob attended the H.E.A.R.T. Missionary training program, along with his wife Holly and their 4 children. The program prepares missionaries for the difficulties in serving third world communities. He participates in TBLI’s annual Christmas Concert fundraiser as well as other worship teams.  Bob is also the Chaplain for Sons of the American Legion, Squad 10, Barre VT. His day job is teaching Physics labs at Norwich University. 

Bob & Holly sponsored a Kenyan student from one of our ministry partners to obtain a Master’s degree in Architecture from Norwich.

In his free time, Bob enjoys reading, playing his guitar, having time with his wife and spending time in the woods with his beloved dog, Virgil.

Rebecca Collins- Secretary/ Director of Fundraising

Rebecca (Becca) Collins joined TBLI’s Board of Directors in 2024. She currently is a voting member, the director of fundraising, and serves in the position of secretary.

She is a wife, stay at home Mom, and loves Jesus. Becca  has a heart for sharing the love of Christ with children and currently volunteers as a children’s ministry leader at her Church. She enjoys crocheting & knitting, listening to music, and learning new things.

Becca has a background studying early childhood education and has worked with children of various ages, in a variety of settings including in a preschool, in a childcare center, as a nanny, and in a few different Churches. She has traveled to Kenya 3 separate times in the past, when she went on missions trips with others from her Church, where she did volunteer work at Anajali, a school in the Kibera Slum. She is grateful to have had those experiences and now have the opportunity to continue sharing God’s love with people in Kenya as she volunteers with TBLI. She has been a big supporter of TBLI since 2018.

Christian Savoia

Christian Savoia is a hard-working,  devoted husband and father. He joined Touched By Love International in 2024 to serve as a voting member on the Board of Directors. In high school Christian volunteered on three separate missions trips doing demolition and construction, helping victims of hurricane Katrina in both New Orleans, Louisiana and the coastal part of Mississippi. He attended Rivendell College studying liberal arts and he had the opportunity to study for 6 weeks in Italy.  He got married in 2021 to his wife, Rebecca. He has worked in management in retail and he currently works as an inventory service specialist. Christian loves history, enjoys reading, and spending time with family. He especially loves playing and interacting with his sweet 2 year old boy. Christian currently volunteers in children’s ministry at Church as an assistant teacher.
